The Philippine Consulate General  is pleased to announce  that the Philippine Commission on Filipino Overseas (CFO)  has formally opened  the nominations for  the year 2008  Presidential Awards for Filipino Individuals and Organizations Overseas.  The Presidential Awards is a biennial search to recognize exceptional individuals and organizations for their outstanding  contribution to Philippine progress and development.  The Awards are also conferred on Overseas Filipinos who have shown excellence and  distinction in their work   or profession.

Instituted in 1991, the award  has so far been conferred on 283 overseas-based individuals and organization.  Included in the Gallery of Presidential awardees   are  the Filipino Community of Guam,  Filipino Ladies Association of Guam,  Mr. Emelio Uy,  Mr. Prospero(Popoy) Zamora,  and Ms. Mila  Moguel.

The   Consulate  will be accepting  applications/nominations  for the various  awards  beginning 15 February 2008 until 30 April 2008.
